Introduction to Biblical Counseling Seminars
We offer two one-day introductory seminars to Biblical counseling, which can be brought to your local church:
Introduction Seminar 1
This seminar is a basic introduction to Biblical counseling and seeks to answer the question: “Biblical Counseling: What Is It?” It is structured to run from 9 am to 3 pm with planned lunch and other breaks.
Topics will include Biblical counseling in historical context, basic questions and answers about Biblical counseling, and what exactly is “Biblical counseling.”
Introduction Seminar 2
This seminar discusses the dynamics of biblical change and seeks to answer the question: “Biblical Counseling: How Do You Do It?” It is structured to run from 9 am to 4 pm with planned lunch and other breaks.
Topics will include a review of the basics about Biblical counseling, an overview of how people change, teaching on how you can help someone change, and practice with a case study.
How to Host an Intro to BC Seminar
If you are currently a local church pastor or elder and/or a leader in your church denomination and you desire to give your people an overview of biblical sufficiency-based personal ministry, then please contact us by email so we can connect with you about options and details.
If you are Christian who believes the Bible is the Word of God and is sufficient to help people with all aspects of life and godliness and you would love to see a seminar hosted at your church, please provide your pastor or elder with our email contact information, as noted below, so we can connect with him about options available.
When to Host a Seminar
As both seminars are designed to be completed in six to seven hours, typically they are held on a Saturday. However, it is at the discretion of the inviting/hosting church to set the date.
Who Should Attend?
All Christian believers! We recommend that all leaders of the inviting church attend and encourage all pastors in the inviting church’s area who believe the Bible is the Word of God and is sufficient to help people with all aspects of life and godliness to join us as well. Further, we encourage the invitation to be extended to all believers in the inviting church’s area, regardless of denomination, including key lay people, those working in para-church Christian ministries, missionaries, church members, and all others.
Typical Seminar Costs
OIC provides these seminars at no charge to the local inviting/hosting church. The local church determines the registration fee for participants to cover any anticipated costs, such as food. Although it is not required, sometimes the hosting church will provide an honorarium to the OIC representative for their ministry.
