Andrei & Olya Murzin

Coordinator
Ukraine

Our ministry here in Ukraine is two-fold. As OIC missionaries we serve both the Academic Program and the Church Leadership Training program.

Ukraine event imageSince 2013, I (Andrei) have worked as the assistant director of the Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling degree program at Kiev Theological Seminary on behalf of OIC. I also have the opportunity to serve as interpreter for the classes in that program.

Beginning in 2015, God gave me the privilege to also serve as the OIC Ukraine Coordinator. It is our passion to spread God-centered, heart-focused, Biblical discipleship in our home country of Ukraine and in the Russian-speaking world. Our new role as OIC missionaries will allow us to branch out into our country of Ukraine and surrounding Slavic countries to bring OIC’s Church Leadership Training programs to pastors and Christian leaders.

We completed Module 4 in Poltava, in Lutsk and in Bila Tserkva. We were thrilled to see so many pastors and Christian leaders in attendance throughout these locations in Ukraine.

On May 20, 2017, 14 students of Cohort 2 at the Kiev Theological Seminary, graduated with their Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling Degree. We are so excited to hear of how the Lord is already using the teaching they have received in their ministries here in Ukraine.

Fall 2017, we will began with the Cohort 4 MABC students. This is another great group. In addition to the progress being made in Ukraine, we have had the privilege of assisting Stepan Pavlyuk in the Church Leadership Training Modules in Bryansk and Vologda, Russia.

Andrei and Olya’s Story

Both of us grew up in the Soviet Union in typical atheist families. I (Andrei) became a Christian in 1991 after hearing the gospel from Campus Crusade missionaries. Soon after that I became involved in full-time Christian ministry of teaching, church-planting and co-pastoring. I received an M.Div. from Ukrainian Biblical Seminary and a Th.M. from Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson, MS.

Having studied at the “Coram Deo” Biblical Counseling Institute, I became even more excited about serving Christ in the area of Biblical Soul-Care. God answered my prayer through an invitation to work for OIC’s Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling degree program at Kyiv Theological Seminary.

For years I have been teaching various courses and seminars around Ukraine. Now I am using my experience to focus even more on spreading Biblical Soul-Care as the OIC Ukraine Coordinator.

Olya has become a Christian through my influence. When our older children grew up, Olya returned to her job as a public school teacher here is Kiev.
