Since their marriage in June 1990, Steve and Eve have always desired to see people of every tribe and every nation embrace the sufficiency of God’s word for all of life. These desires have led Steve to work with OIC to see the nations of the world embrace the reality that people have all that they need in Christ for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3).

Steve and Eve started out in ministry as junior high youth leaders at Lakeview Christian Center (LCC) in New Orleans back in the early 1990’s. During their time at LCC, they also took their first two counseling classes, Biblical Counseling 101 and 102. In 1997, Steve became the pastor of Cornerstone Bible Church (CBC) in Slidell, LA. During his time at CBC, he and Eve became involved in the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC) and began to take classes as well as attend several of the annual conferences.

Steve and Eve truly came to understand the essential need for biblical counseling in the church setting when their marriage began to struggle in 2004. Through the loving and biblical counsel of a NANC certified counselor, Steve and Eve watched God redeem their marriage through repentance and forgiveness. It was a complete and total healing. Today, Steve and Eve give all the credit to an amazing God and His infallible Word, as well as the biblical counselors who guided them through this difficult time in their marriage.

Through this experience, Steve and Eve came to realize the importance of biblical counseling and how it can impact the lives of believers in the local church. Both felt a strong call of God to become biblical counselors and serve in a local church. So, Steve and Eve enrolled in biblical counseling training and Steve completed his certification with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC, formerly NANC) in July, 2020.  He is currently working with Dr. Don Roy at the IBCD training center in Slidell, LA. In addition to his biblical counseling services with IBCD, Steve is helping to train lay counselors by equipping them for personal ministry within the context of the local church.

Steve is excited about being part of OIC and looks forward to seeing how God will use him globally to equip pastors to counsel their churches.
