On January 18th, OIC began it’s first training in Thailand. This 2 day training was an answer to prayer for our family and others who are committed to the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word in the growth of the local church. For over 4 years, we have been offering biblical counseling and training to those who were interested but very few were wanting to be trained and our prayers for a new approach were answered with our partnership with OIC. Since that first training over a year ago, we have been blessed to offer other trainings with OIC in two different locations in Thailand. In January 2019 we will add a new location to the training schedule and we are looking forward to completing our first Module 4 training in June 2018.

Dan’s Story

By God’s grace I was saved at a young age and was able to grow in my love for God and others through the discipleship of some faithful men of God who were members of scripturally healthy local churches throughout my high school and college years. In September 2001, I moved to Thailand to serve as a full-time missionary and 2 years later I married my beautiful wife who is not only my best friend but also a faithful partner in the ministry.

Over the next 15 years we were able to partner with local ministries to help reach the Thai church through evangelism, discipleship, and care ministries. In 2011, our family returned to the States to complete my MABC through the Master’s University and in 2013 we relocated back to Thailand to continue in full-time ministry. Over the past five years our family has been serving the local church and missionary community here in Thailand through the ministries of biblical counseling and pastoral training. We joined with OIC in the fall of 2017 and are grateful to be partnering with them to help bring biblical counseling training to the churches here in Thailand.

Mam’s Story

Ararart (Mam) grew up in a small Akha village with her animistic family in Northern Thailand. Following the completion of 6thgrade she moved to the city to live in a girl’s home which was started to offer protection and provide education for young tribal girls in danger of being sold into prostitution. During her time at the home, she was able to hear the gospel message and committed her life to God and to serve Him where ever He sent her.

After completion of high school and technical college, she attended a local Bible school and it was here where she was able to grow in her knowledge of the Bible and her commitment to serve God. During her time at the Bible college, both of her parents committed their lives to Christ and have forsaken their ancestor worship. Mam married Dan in 2004 and has since been able to serve side by side with her husband and their family as they seek to connect the hearts and homes of Thailand with the redeeming truths of Scripture.  Mam has been excited for their family’s partnership with OIC and has been grateful to not only assist in the preparation for the trainings but also participate in them as well.
